Teatime with Mrs. Joho: Bigelow I Love Lemon with Vitamin C Tea

In our continued times of uncertainty, I am starting to see a light at the end of the tunnel. I actually had a dream where I was in a grocery store and no one was wearing masks. What a beautiful dream it was! Hopefully soon, that will be our reality. However, until then, let’s continue being safe, taking care of each other, and taking care of ourselves. One way we can do that is by drinking tea.

One of the main reasons I started “Teatime with Mrs. Joho” on my blog was because I wanted my readers to see that drinking certain teas can be very beneficial to our health. As I mentioned in my discussion of Red Rose Immunity Strawberry Rose tea, there are teas, herbs, spices, and flowers that are helpful in assisting our immune system and fighting colds and the flu. However, I feel it is imperative that right now we not only take care of our immune system, but our body as a whole. That’s why I tried Bigelow I Love Lemon with Vitamin C tea.

What Is In Bigelow I Love Lemon Tea?

This tea is packed with a plethora of different herbs and flowers, which help make it extremely beneficial not only to our immune system, but our entire body. It includes lemongrass, lemon peel, lemon verbena, rosehip, peppermint leaves, vitamin C, and hibiscus. As I discussed in my post about Red Rose Strawberry Rose Immunity tea, rosehip is definitely helpful for our immune system, but it can also help fight fine lines and wrinkles. I also mentioned in that post the many great benefits of vitamin C (ascorbic acid) like aiding in our immune system and preventing cardiovascular disease. Lastly, in my post about Tazo Zen tea, I discussed the benefits of lemongrass and lemon verbena, which range from weight loss to lowering cholesterol to reducing inflammation and even aiding in digestion.

But what do we know about hibiscus and peppermint leaves? Well, according to the ZeroCater article I sited in the Red Rose post, “…hibiscus may be beneficial to people who want to lower their ‘bad’ LDL cholesterol and boost their ‘good’ HDL cholesterol.” It’s also shown to help with weight loss as well. Now, I’m sure many of you know the benefits of peppermint (peppermint leaves), which range from weight loss to helping with bad breath and even reducing nausea; however, peppermint can also help with migraines, fight colds, and may even help with seasonal allergies.

What Does Bigelow I Love Lemon Tea Taste Like?

I will say that after I poured some hot water onto the tea bag, I immediately smelled lemon. I mean when it has lemongrass, lemon peel, and lemon verbena in it, you know it’s going to smell and taste like a lemon. And I will admit I got a little nervous because I thought it was going to be too sour. However, as I took my first sip, I noticed it tasted almost exactly like a lemon Starburst. It was delicious! It made me smile because I’ve been craving Starburst for some time, but with me trying to be healthy, I haven’t bought them to enjoy. Now whenever I’m craving them, I can at least have this tea to help suppress the urge.

Thankfully, it wasn’t sour at all. It honestly reminded me of drinking my lemon water with peppermint, except it was hot, not cold. Plus, there’s an after taste that’s more earthy because of the rosehip and hibiscus, but it’s not over-powering. The mixture of lemon with earthy undertones and a hint of mint, really made this tea delightful.

My Recommendation

In the end, I definitely recommend Bigelow I Love Lemon with Vitamin C tea for anyone who’s looking for help with weight loss, high cholesterol, and, of course, boosting your immune system. I also recommend this tea for anyone who loves the taste of lemon or a lemon Starburst. Please continue to stay safe during the Covid-19 pandemic. We will get through this together! Take care!
